Cafes on upswing, specialty shops lost

The stumbling economy retailers to claim victims, but other businesses continue to open in a deep recession are searching for a way.

Mount Pleasant restaurants and specialty shops in Downtown Charleston, while two are missing a good bet for a start.

Here is a rundown on this week's opening and Closings:

Beefing Up

Five Guys burgers and fries in Charleston and North Charleston are set to open new restaurants.

Retail Services Group reports that the Colliers Keenan for two new eateries 364 King St., opening in August, 4959 Center Pointe Drive and Tanger Outlet Mall, opening in November near the lease transactions brokered.

Five Guys burgers and fries already Indigo village in West Ashley and two restaurants near Mount Pleasant Towne Center. Burger chain to 19 restaurants statewide will be new places.

Strong

King Street and feature one shop is losing.
